Adventure Comics

Adventure Comics
Back around 1980, DC Comics announced that they would be revisiting the Dial “H” for Hero concept. They would debut the new series in Adventure Comics u

See, the whole Dial “H” thing made the heroes change identities each time they used the dial. So, after a few days of drawing and provide some background ideas on each character, I sent in my entries.

A few months later, the series debuted but with no sight of any of my characters. Fast forward a few issues, we made a trip downtown to pick up some comics as we were gearing up to drive down to San Diego/Tijuana to visit family. I need something to read, so the comic shop was a must stop. I got my usual assortment of books and we went home to pack.

By the time we got home, I had glanced at some of the books and made my way to Adventure Comics #481. After getting near the end, I saw my name attached to the Stellar character. Looking back at the cover, my design was also used for the cover. Cool!

We realized we needed more copies. A quick run back to the comic shop and we loaded up with probably twenty copies of that issue which were mostly distributed to family.

Every so often, I buy a copy of that issue. Eventually, Gabriel will see my brief entry into the comic world, too. (omargutierrez in Flickr.com)
